History of the practice

Our premises partly built in 1988

Birchwood Dental Practice was established in 1985 by Stuart Hampshire when it was situated on the first floor of the offices opposite the then Spectrum Arena.  In 1987 Stuart was joined by partner Martin Robson and soon after they moved to our purpose built premises in 1988.

Since the practice began Stuart and Martin focused on providing quality care on the affordable National Health Service system.

Sadly in June 2002 Stuart passed away but the legacy of his kind and caring approach lives on through the practice he helped to build.  Many of the team have worked for the practice for many years and one of our team, Julie, has been with the practice since year one working as a dental nurse and later receptionist.

More recently in 2008 Mark Woodger became a partner and together with Martin Robson still strives to be at the forefront of patient centered NHS dental care.

Our entire team are committed to providing the very best for patients at an affordable price and take great pride in achieving the high standards set by Stuart Hampshire all those years ago.  Find out more about our current team.
